It's Been A Year...

I asked God,
“How do I get the best out of life?”

God answered,
“Face your past without regret.
Handle your present with confidence.
Prepare for the future without fear.
Keep the faith and drop the fear.
Don’t believe your doubts and don’t doubt your beliefs.
Trust me.
Life is wonderful if you know how to live!”

---

It’s been a year…(yeah, that fast...)

So many things have changed…
but one thing didn’t…and that is for my love for my daddy.

July 28.
This is the very same day last year…
that my daddy left us and be with the Lord….
that I was at my lowest point in my life...
that I didn’t know what to do with my life…
that I didn’t know that this thing could ever happen to me and my family.

This is the very same day last year that changed my life.

I can’t believe it’s been a year that my dad passed away.
There were so many things that happened and changed…that some of them, I didn’t like. But I know that is life that I have to deal with.
Yeah…
Life is a continuous struggle but I thank God for the strength that helped me to survive all that came into my life.

Well, I still do cry once in awhile. It hurts that he is gone. But I know where he is now in a better place…a beautiful place where there is peace with our Lord.
And that is a reason for me to smile!

---

It was a family for us. My mom, sister and I together with my dad’s side went to church for a mass offering for my dad. We went to the cemetery also to visit dad… prayed together…and stayed for awhile. Then back home at my mom’s place, we prayed again…did the traditions and all in the province…they call it for the ”pagbabang luksa”…Something like that. After that the family had lunch together and the house was jam packed. I can’t believe it! haha well…yeah… what’s new? It’s in the province that everyone knows each other…and everyone is like related to each other. Some people came in the house that I do not even know who they were. Oh well, but it’s ayt. hehe but it’s always fun to be with the family especially spending time with the kids…:)

It was kinda a whole day affair…eating and sharing some stories about daddy and the family. It was tiring but fun.

And at the end of the day, I was left alone on my bed.
It was at night that I prayed…thought and remembered different things…overwhelmed by the people whom my daddy has touched…smiled and cried about the memories of my daddy.

Yeah…Life goes on…
But…
I will always remember him…and be thankful for everything of him.

I love him…my daddy.

Back to the game(s)

So many things had happened…
I was in the province for 2 days because of a family gathering that I’ll talk about with my next blog…
With this, it means that I have been away online for days…haha and now, that I am back here online, gah! All the news!!!
What was that all about?
Back to that game...
DLSU on protesting the game against ADMU?! Why?!
At first, I thought there were some excuses for the defeat. But after reading the posts at PEX and AP.com, I now understand what it was all about. It seems that ADMU committed a violation on a UAAP rule on fielding 2 foreign players at the same time.

Here’s a link about what GreenArrows had posted...this is from PEX:
La Salle may protest the loss to Ateneo in UAAP game.

With all those screen caps and them viewing the game again, I think we do have a point.
Also, when I watched the game on TV…They did a mistake on fielding only 4 players? What the heck was that? Hello?! Basketball is played with 5 players on the court noh! And that act of them was their way of what? ... I guess, the subtle way of hiding the violation? Hmmm…

DLSU had already sent their protest to the UAAP board. I just really DO hope that they see our point. And yeah, it is not taking away the game from ADMU but on just being fair. There was violation that was made. And necessary action should be made by the other side. Can you just admit your mistake? Uh, like we did the last time around? Hmmm…

But the again, we are La Salle… people love us! (just being sarcastic…) duh?!

If there’ll be an action that will be in favor to us or for the league… thank God! There’s still hope…it’s a miracle actually…haha
But if there’s none…ha ha ha. The heck? What’s new?
I just hope they’ll be fair… the board. And also live to this years’ theme: Honesty Through Sports. (?)
Yeah… sure… whatever…Asa pa noh?!
Haay.

---

Anyway, I hope I can post here a picture of the archers in today’s game…haha
Everyone shaved their heads!!! Haha nice one! From the coaching staff to the water boys. How great is that? Wahaha
And I can’t believe Coach Franz did that too. I think it’s the first time that he sported that look. Haha and oh, I think Bro. Bernie did too…
yeah… livin’ up with this huh? -- We’re back. We’re one. haha

So back to the games…
Watched the game on TV, the DLSU – UST game! It was a good game. I think the green archers are slowly learning from their mistakes. But then again, so many missed free throws and fouls! Haay!
Good thing Casio and Tang stepped up. And we won in overtime.
Finally, a win after those two loses.
DLSU – 90
UST – 86

As for the junior archers, still a clean record…undefeated.
They won in yesterday’s game against a tall team as they say…hehe
DLSZ – 85
FEU – 74

Congratulations to both teams!

Early Loses

What was that all about?!

Minutes ago…Just finished watching a good game of DLSU and ADMU…

And I can’t believe that I just watched it on TV. haha
(kasi naman noh…some “things” are just so wrong with the ticket distribution. Haaay.)
Anyway, I was quietly cheering so crazy alone here at home in front of the TV. haha
Loved that it had to go overtime…but then it sucks that in the end, we lost! Dang!
DLSU – 77
ADMU – 80

Oh, I forgot to blog last Sunday’s game against UE. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.…we were smothered(?). Haha but it was really the other’s school day. They really played better than us.
DLSU – 76
UE – 96

But both games were really one heck of a ball game! Good games for the teams!

--

With these games, the early loses of the team came from the early round is somewhat good too. At least, they’ll get some lessons from it… (which they really need!) and at the same time, they can make adjustments.
Hope we can have better games and wins!
Keep the faith!
ANIMO!

The Holy Bread Of Padre Pio

For the past week…my mom was doing this recipe thing. It was passed on to us by my Tita Nery. At first, I didn’t want to go with it… do it and all like a chain letter or something but I went along with it then. Hehe labo! Basta…
And just yesterday, we ate it all. sarap naman! Not that bad at all.

Well, it's not actually more of the bread but being part of the Holy Bread of Padre Pio.

Something To Believe In ?

At times in life, you feel you do not really know where you are headed. Every so often, you think nothing keeps you going.

While it is true that you know what you want but do not know what to do, sometimes…some things are not in your control. It comes to a point that you do not know what to believe in.

And that’s sad part in life.

---

I was listening different songs with my mp3 player last night…I was finding a song that fits me these times…and I found Something To Believe In by Aqualung.
The lyrics below kinda speak to me? Or for me? I dunno…*sigh*
Well, it’s some kinda a journey for me…
I have goals in life…
but then, frustration comes along that sometimes you can’t just avoid…
I guess this is that point in life where you try to find…
something to believe in.

---

Something To Believe In
By Aqualung

You talk too much
Maybe that's your way
Of breaking up the silence
That fills you up.
But it doesn't sound the same
When no one's really listening.

We stumble
Into our lives
Reach for a hand to hold

And we wonder
We need to find
A certain something
A certain...

Turn out the light
And what are you left with?
Open up my hands
And find out they're empty.
Press my face to the ground
I've gotta find a reason.
Just scratching around
For something to believe in.
Something to believe in...

You have too much
Spending all your time
Collecting and discovering
It's not enough.
And no matter how you try,
You never find the one you want
.

We stumble into our lives
Without a hand to hold.
And we wonder
We need to find
A certain something
Certain...

Cut out the light
And what are you left with?
Open up my hands
And find out they're empty
Press my face to the ground.
I'm gonna find a reason.
Still scratching around
For somethig to believe in.
Something to believe in...

Something I can believe in
Something I can believe in
C'mon I need it
Something I can believe in now
C'mon I need it
Something I can believe in
C'mon I need it
Ooohh

Something I can beleive in
C'mon i need it
Oohh, Ooh

Right on, right now.
Right on, right now.
I just need something to believe in

C'mon, c'mon
C'mon, c'mon
C'mon, c'mon
C'mon, c'mon
C'mon, c'mon
C'mon, c'mon
C'mon, c'mon
C'mon, c'mon.

Tuesday Bummer

Janet texted me last Monday night if I want to go to a job fair the next day, Tuesday. And I agreed to meet her there at Trinoma at 10am.
We got there on time. and waaaaaaaaaaaaaa So frustrating! The line was freaking long!
How long?
Nah… not that long naman..
We just lined up for TWO WASTED HOURS!!!
Grrr!!!
You know why? Because it was not at all worth it! (right, Janet???)
Because…uh…never mind.
So, we just treated ourselves with a good lunch! Some mashed potato, pesto and chicken with teriyaki sauce…Yeah…haha
Hmm…We talked about some stuff on work…job hunting…some people...career path/growth…frustrations…plans and all. And everything went well? Yeah…haha it feels good to talk to a friend who understands you and how you feel especially being a bum and looking for work…haha some rants huh? Yeah…
Then we went just went around to explore the new mall and because we still didn’t want to go home. haha Some of there stores there were new that I think that have great finds and some were on sale! Gah! How we wish we have the money to buy those stuff f…
And with that, I saw the Canon 400D!!! waaa I really want to have my own DSLR! As well as a gorillapod!
But that’s not my goal at this time…I have to have a work first before I can buy those stuff for myself.
Waaa…work?! haaay

Anyway…at night…I was just surfing the net. YM also again with Janet (as if we didn’t meet…haha) she was ranting about something and I was laughing on her reactions…haha ang kulit! Also, l lurked around some sites…And when I was about to go and sign out at myspace, a message pops out!
Oh… I so love those messages that pops out! Haha and coming from relatives:)
I got a message from my cousin, Kuya Aron, back in US. It’s been a long time that we haven’t communicated…
He messaged me because he saw me online at myspace and told me he was excited too because he’ll be a Ninong for baby Matt. He also knew that I’ll be a Ninang too…so, I replied to him…
After that, I was about to l sign out again at myspace, then there… a message pops out again! Gah!
Now, it came from my Kuya Arnold, the twin brother of my Kuya Aron whom I haven’t seen personally. Haha He just gave me a comment and asked how things are…
Then I commented back …
*haaay…they really always check their myspace first thing in the morning before working…hmmm...haha *
After that, I finally signed out…but didn’t go offline just yet.
Got an email from my Ninang Venia from US. She’ll be visiting us on January 2008. I’m excited about it!
She’ll be also traveling with her friends around the country. And if things with will work out, I might join her. Yay! It’s ok…I just want to travel and take lots of pictures…I just hope at that time, I have my DSLR and had taken some seminars already. Waaaaaaa

Haaay…such a bummer day… so many thoughts in my mind that I dunno what to do…but what I am really hoping and praying to reach my goal at the moment…and that is to have work that is a fulfilling and enjoying one!
*prays*

oh.. I didn’t know that they had a game yesterday…good thing there were updates at AP.com…

S(h)orta College Friends Reunion

Last Saturday, I met my college friends. (The last time that I saw most of them was when it was their graduation practice. And that was last year…Gah! That’s a looong time!)
Anyway…though I was sooo late (because of my sister’s work), it was all worth it. hahaha I met my thesismates at the Rub-a-Dub-Dub Corporation…(naks! hahaha) Sheena, Van, Mel, Jing, and Steve. Plus, Adrian was also there but Janet was not able to come because she was not feeling well.
We had a late lunch at the famous (?) Amici at Don Bosco…Had some pizzas and gelato. It was actually the treat of Sheena. The long delayed birthday treat? Haha
Everything turned out well. We talked about what we have been doing. I knew what they have been up to with work and all. It was a good feeling that even if I still don’t have work, they understood me. I felt their support. Aww…hahaha I shared them my experiences in finding work. And they said positive things …like that there’ll be a job that really fits me. hehe I told them that I want to have a choice of work and not to settle for something only. With that, they have been encouraging me to look for more (other) jobs.
Also, they told me to look for a job that would not be boring. Sheena said something like this…
ikaw pa, eh ayaw mo na walang ginagawa.

With that, they really know me and how I work. Hahaha and they believe in me somehow? Hmm…haha
*ahh...like a pat at the back...kinda needed that…something that can keep me up…especially with all the stress and frustrations that I am feeling these times…*
Thanks for that and all the encouragements!
Oh, it really just feels good to be with them… and all the talk…
Though we met and chatted short, I enjoyed it!

---
oh, missed the DLSU game coz of the lunch out.
But the good thing is that, we won again.

the ANIMO is back!

Oh…did so many things this week…
Well, to start it off…I went back to school. (Of course not to study! Haha) but just to visit and go to the job expo.
Ahhh. It really feels good to be back in school *how I wish I was still a student…life is much simpler.*
For several days, I went with Janet to the job expo...
and passed some résumés to different companies *prays for all the applications*. I also got to see some friends too…Steve and Zel who were looking for work. It was also fun meeting new people, all the experience and the lessons that you get. Janet and I also went around the school and just hanged out at conserve…para magpalamig and rant into some things…haha It was a good feel…just staying there like what I used to do when I was still a student…and just do nothing…haha *good times!*
Anyway, I got more the feel of the school when I also got the chance to watch the pep rally. *getting there* saw the all the athletes, the Lasallian community and you can just feel the school spirit is back! Aww…haha oh, saw the green archers’ rookies who had their “initiation” who were wearing jerseys and skirt. Hahaha
Hmm…whatelse? Ahhh… got a chance to hang with the barkada…zobel chums? Haha I was with Nina, Belay and Jade. We ate at Dencio’s at Paseo Centre after my exam at Chinabank. It was fun to see them all even just for awhile. It’s been a long time that I haven’t seen them. I think the last one was … during my birthday treat. Hmm… fun seeing them. Though you can’t avoid the feeling of a little bit of inferiority? Because they all have work while I still haven’t found one…well nuff of that. Look at the other side of it na lang. haha again, back to the blog topic…it’s still related. Zobel friends?...La Salle! Haha labo!
And just to add to these slowly bringing the Animo was when I listened to the Green Archer radio show at 103.5 Max FM! Super laugh trip!!! Haha Though it should have been an informative show, it was more of entertaining! Because of all those bashes…pretending…craziness of those hosts of the show. Haha Well…to tell you honestly, I listened to the show more because of JW but after that…I am really looking forward every Monday listening to them all. It was really fun hearing what they think about the team and all the information that they give aside form all the jokes that they have been throwing with each other and to other schools? Haha
So…onto the main thing…(rather be in a place where I can have fun than be in…..hmmm….Hehe)
Janet and I were fortunate enough again to have (upper A) tickets for the game without much effort. (Thanks to her uncle!)
It was my first time to attend the opening ceremonies of UAAP. And…it was just fine…Haha
With game...not yet even starting, yet you can feel the energy of the crowd. Everyone was anticipating the return of the Green Archers in the hard court! *cheers!* everyone were shouting and cheering! Especially with the way we started the game with a 14-0 run! Waaa all of them really did well in their offense and defense. TY, Cholo, Mangahas and I think JV had a good game… now, where was the game of Maierhofer? Hmmm…lousy! Haha oh, it was also Atkins debut in UAAP Srs. Nice! But there you can see the rookie jitters…hehe well, I think the whole team did their job well! Sorry, I think all the excitement and the vengeance of our team to return and play was thrown to the UP Maroons. But oh…they still gave us a fight but were not enough to beat us (shout outs to Reyes and de Asis, who played well for their team…gah. Just being proud with the products of Zobel! Haha before, I see them play ball when they were still kids…now, just so nice seeing them play college ball well…).

DLSU – 82
UP – 61

So, yeah… definitely… We’re back!
The ANIMO is back!

*here’s to you, Ira! We missed you at the games and the butas people too…haha
*Don’t worry Ira, I’ll update you with the ball games. Oh there ah…you can relate na. It’s not about footy anymore.
---
Oh… just to share…just proud of it lang…wahahaha I’ve been in school and always do obey rules. Haha but now that I am an alumna, I think I can do whatever? I mean… now I can wear slippers! Haha first time!
Here…with my black havs on school grounds…wahahaha ang babaw!
Pasaway? Haha crazy…I know its shallow…well, for all I care! :p

Back There At...

Just short…

Just wanted to somehow continue my previous blog on footy.

Well, I just read an article that PYH9 is back there at…Chelsea! Yay!
Though things did not work out with his trials at LA Galaxy, he is still there at the reserve list of Chelsea and not released by the team!

Good for you…Ledge! Hahaha

Hope all goes well...

*nuff about footy…for now...*
