sa-wàt dee khâ from BKK

Like all great travellers, I have seen more than I remember,
and remember more than I have seen.
- Benjamin Disraeli

sa-wàt dee (means hi / hello / goodbye in Thai)
sa-wàt dee khâ (put khâ as used by females)
sa-wàt dee khràp (put khràp as used by males)

This trip wasn't really planned. My sister and I just wanted to go coz my mom had a training there for a week there. And because I am kinda a bummer, I had the time to go through all those research thingies for our itinerary (though some of them were not followed. Hehe) oh...Thanks for all the help from websites, the people from forums, Mike’s Bangkok book (Thanks, Nina!), and Ira-“Thai guru”(?) haha.

Day 1 - My sister and I left home early. We were brought by Jim to the airport. We checked-In and were told that we were "pre-seated and requested for seafood and vegetarian meal?"...Oh yeah! haha then we paid travel tax then to the immigration thing (yay! haha) Then...Ate Mylynne was hungry so we bought food at Delifrance. then pics pics pics...hehe then wutt? We’re not seated together? Seat A and C??? uh, walang seat B po kasi. hehehe lousy...
neway, it was a good flight. It was the first time for me to experience to be pre-seated and have a special meal (before other passengers have their own meal. hehe thanks, Jim!).
Then we got to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK’s newest airport). Dang! It was a long line at their counter thing. After that, we met Bee (KBS tour guide). We waited for some people who were under the same travelling agency. oh my...tagal nila. oh well...then got to the van. talk talk talk. wala lang. It’s nice to meet new people and talk to them...they're also Filipinos.
Then we checked into our hotel...then we met mommy!!! yay! After that, we checked our itinerary and just rested for awhile. We then just decided to go to malls.
We went around to Siam Paragon / Siam Center (like the GB here) and also ate dinner there. Ugh, food was spicy and too oily. =( I tried to finish my food but I can't. Good thing I had strawberry shake that made me feel better. yay! hahaha then we went to MBK (like the Tutuban Mall here?) to check it out and shopped a bit. Then what was next? We walked back to the hotel by walking?! waaa ='( it was hard to get a taxi, so we had no choice but to walk. Dagger! It was hot and all...feet hurts...but saving grace? Haha A good bed in the hotel. =)

Day 2 - My sister and I woke up early for breakfast and City tour of the PAL package thingy. We were able to go to
Wat Traimit / The Golden Buddha (pics, shopped, and Ate was given a bracelet by a monk),
Wat Benchamabophit / Marble Temple (pics, oh...it was really nice to hear other tour guides who were speaking Spanish. kakatuwa lang. I kinda understood them and felt like talking to them...hehe)
And jewellery / ruby thingy (there’s nothing much to say here…hehe).
After that, Ate and I checked out Platinum Mall (like the 168 Mall here?). We went around and ate our lunch there... (Food was a bit better? I think but…never mind=P).
Then we went back to the hotel and met mom with her friends from her training thing.
We all went to see The Royal Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew / Temple of the Emerald Buddha
(pics pics pics…lots of pics talaga. Haha it has an amazing temples and its architectural styles).
Then after that…ohhh…freakin' lousy taxi driver! We didn't know that the pier was near from where we were. So he drove us. Like hello? Not even a kilometer away and it cost us 50 Bhat?! Dagger! Screw you!
Anyway…we went across the Chao Praya River then road a taxi to get to Wat Arun / Temple of Dawn (pics pics pics...hot and tiring=(...oh well.) then back to the hotel...to rest. then we went Platinum mall again to buy some food. oh please? normal? so there...we got some KFC! hehe (And that was something! I don't really eat that much of their food coz I don't like fast foods and coz of what I saw and read from emails. Uh, nuff of that! haha so we got food there and that was something for me. No choice ako eh?! Hehe) Then we saw some street food? Looks good but eh?! hehe...then ate our food in our room. After that, we had some choco éclair and doughnuts at the hotel lobby while checking emails, forums and this multiply thing. yay! It’s nice to be back and be connected. LOL! Haha

Day 3 – We all woke up really early. We had breakfast (dang! I thought it was maple syrup. di pala! ehhh) then we were fetched for our tour at the lobby. We had the Ayutthaya Tour with several tourists at the bus. [Ayutthaya is Thailand’s old city]
We went to Bang-In Palace, a summer resort for Thai Royalty.
(pics...nice sceneries. Bridges. Tower. green fields with cute faker elephants…haha. royal halls. different architectural styles like Thai, European and Chinese.)
Then we went to Wat Maha That, a temple that is over 600 years old.
(pics...twas like you are in Intramuros with all those old structures. bricks. buddhas. towers.)
Then we went to Wat Na Phra Mane, has all those Ayutthaya architectural designs.
(pics...again, old ruins. Buddha’s. elephants, the real ones now. hehe)
Then we went to Wat Lokayasutharam, has one of the Largest Reclining Buddha images.
(well, I just saw it from the bus. Only mom and sis went outside to see and take pics.) At this point, I was super tired. Feet hurts again. And dang! It was so hot!!! (I think I had a tan already. Well, it's ok to get tanned but not in a tour?! Tanned from beach pa. Ok pa. hehe)
After that long tiring travel, we went on a boat for a cruise in going back to BKK. We had buffet lunch (I think this was the best food that I had for the entire stay at BKK...sarap!). Then had pics...and some side sceneries? hehe
Back to the hotel, we rested for awhile then we went out and bought some pasalubongs from the Kabuhayan store owned by Filipinos. And it’s nice to see and talk to kababayans who lives there. Hehe then we were supposed to Baiyoke but then...ahh..never mind. For dinner? ehhh...fast food again. oh this time, Mcdo naman. hahaha then rested...

Day 4 – woke up early. Breakfast. And after touring several temples, it's always good to visit your own...Catholic Church. We heard Sunday mass at Holy Redeemer Church. It still looks like a temple but has a cross on it. After that, waaaaaa shopping time! yay! I have to admit that this was the most fun thing that
I had at BKK. wahahaha. Got to shop so many things at Chatuchak Weekend Market. *happy happy happy* ...haggle? discount? hehe...got some things and clothes (ohhh…the dressesss!!! Love ‘em=)). Then back to the hotel to leave some things and rested a bit. Then back to Platinum mall for last minute shopping...again? Yes, again. hahaha it was fun! hehe then we ate again at KFC. Oh well. (Take away? oh...you mean take out! hehehe)
Then packed stuff for tomorrow.

Day 5 - breakfast. Got some mangoes? Eh? hehe green mango that tastes like guava?! hahaha then we were fetched by the agency. Then to airport. check-in. counter. Shopping? nah. just bought some chocolates at duty free. Then to the plane. pics. food. sleep. then back home. =)
